Why does Klout ask for my birthday and mailing address?

Klout asks for your birthday to confirm that you are over 18 and eligible for Perks. Birthdays are not displayed on profiles. The only person that can see your birthday is you. Klout needs your mailing address to insure that your Perk gets shipped to the right address. Klout does not pass along or publish any of your personal information.
